Residential Support Worker - Children's Homes
Location: Moreton, Wirral CH46
Pay: 14.00 per hour
Contracted Hours: 165 per month
Sleep-in Rate: 60 per night
Job Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people within a safe, nurturing environment. You'll help them thrive by implementing care plans, encouraging independence, and fostering positive relationships. This role requires compassion, resilience, and strong communication skills, as you'll work closely with families, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily support with personal care, social integration, and life skills.
Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and health.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to deliver holistic care.
Safely transport children when required.
Engage children in educational, recreational, and developmental activities.
Offer guidance and resources to families to support childcare and development.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Awareness of the needs of children and young people.
Knowledge of the Children Act and Quality Standards.
Understanding of residential care, equal opportunities, and the impact of trauma.
Full driving licence.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to manage challenging behaviour and conflict calmly and effectively.
Organised, dependable, and able to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic record-keeping.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Professional approach with flexibility to work a 24-hour rota (including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins).
