Essential Experience
A minimum of 12 months' experience working in a registered children's residential care setting or equivalent Children's focused setting (see below on equivalent roles).
Proven experience supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and/or mental health needs.

Job Summary
As a
Residential Support Worker
, you will play an essential role in the care and safeguarding of children and young people within our Ofsted-registered home. You will help to create a nurturing, therapeutic, and stable environment that supports personal growth, independence, and emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Care:
Provide consistent, high-quality support, including personal care, education, emotional support, and leisure activities.
Safeguarding:
Proactively identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns in line with Prosperity Care Group's procedures and the Children's Homes Regulations.
Relationship Building:
Develop and maintain positive, trusting, and professional relationships with children and young people.
Care Planning:
Contribute to the delivery and regular review of care plans and risk assessments.
Behaviour Support:
Manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed, child-centred, and non-punitive approaches.
Collaboration:
Work effectively with colleagues, managers, families, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
Home Environment:
Contribute to the upkeep of a safe, clean, and supportive home environment, including domestic duties and health and safety compliance.
Shift Work:
Participate in a rolling rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and up to 2-3 sleep-in shifts per week.
Training:
Engage fully in all mandatory and developmental training opportunities.
Person Specification
Essential
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England), or willingness to achieve this within 2 years of appointment.
At least 12 months' experience supporting children or young people with complex needs (EBD, trauma, or mental health) or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
Previous experience in a registered children's home or therapeutic residential setting.
Valid First Aid certificate.
Full UK driving licence.
