We are currently recruiting for a

Senior Residential Worker

to join our team in a newly opened home in Winsford, Cheshire. Do you have experience in a Residential Child Care setting working directly with vulnerable children & young people. Able to identify and manage challenging behaviours. Experience of working with external professionals such as Local Authorities and social workers, we would like to hear from you!

Rate of pay 15.50 per hour, contracted hours 165 per month, with sleep rates of 60 per night.



You will have:



Awareness of the needs of children & young people Knowledge of the Children Act Knowledge of the Quality Standards Understanding the purpose and function of residential care Understanding of Equal Opportunities Understanding of the impact of abuse, neglect and trauma on children and young people Knowledge of IT, including use of E-mail, the internet and keeping electronic records. Good interpersonal/social skills Dependable, organised, and structured Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines Ability to produce written reports and maintain clear, concise, complete, and correct records Understand the causes of, and be able to manage challenging behaviour and conflict Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Ability to demonstrate and promote anti-discriminatory practice Ability to communicate with and form positive relationships with children and young people Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information Commitment to Staff Development Knowledge of quality assurance systems within the workplace IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook Professional Approach Evidence of training in Safeguarding children and young people

Ability to adapt to 24-hour rota's which will include, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in.
