Job Summary:
The Residential Support Worker (Residential Childcare) is responsible for providing direct care and support to children and young people who are living in a residential care setting. The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is able to build trusting relationships with children and support them to develop their independence, social and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily support and care to children and young people in a residential care setting.
Build positive relationships with children and young people and support them to develop their independence, social and life skills.
Ensure that children and young people are safe and protected at all times.
Support children and young people to access education and health services.
Encourage and support positive behaviour and help manage challenging behaviour in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and incidents involving children and young people in care.
Work as part of a team with other support workers and professionals to ensure that the needs of children and young people are met.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Be prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
