We are working on behalf of a client to recruit a
Residential Support Worker
for a small, Ofsted-registered children's home supporting young people aged 11-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The home has been consistently rated
GOOD
and is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can grow and thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
Support young people in their daily lives, encouraging education, independence, and wellbeing.
Build trusting relationships, helping children feel safe, understood, and supported.
Respond to challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
Participate in activities, outings, and new experiences to enrich young people's lives.
Write and follow care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
Carry out household responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, shopping, and supporting routines.
Work as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, families, and professionals.
Contribute to a structured, therapeutic home environment that promotes positive outcomes.
What We're Looking For
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
-- or willingness to complete with support.
Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker (or within the care sector).
A full UK driving licence (essential).
Resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Ability to de-escalate situations and support children through challenges.
Team-focused, dependable, and committed to making a difference.
