Overview


To provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting. To promote their welfare, safety, development, and wellbeing in line with individual care plans, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 (including Quality Standards), and the ethos and policies of the home.

As this is a new home within a new organisation, you will also contribute to shaping a positive culture from the ground up.

Responsibilities



Direct Care and Support:



- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.

- Provide a nurturing and structured environment that promotes emotional stability.

- Support children with their daily routines including personal care, meals, activities, education, and health appointments.

- Actively engage children in therapeutic and recreational activities that promote development and resilience.

- Apply consistent and appropriate boundaries and behavior management strategies in line with individual behavior support plans.

Safeguarding and Protection:



- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.

- Respond promptly and effectively to safeguarding concerns and disclosures.

- Maintain accurate and timely records of incidents, observations, and daily care logs.

Teamwork and Professionalism:



- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals (social workers, education staff, therapists, etc.)

- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training, and supervision.

- Reflect on practice and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Planning and Administration:



- Support the implementation of care plans and risk assessments.

- Participate in care planning and reviews as appropriate.

- Complete all required documentation to a high standard, including incident reports and daily records.

Household Responsibilities:



- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the home, including cleaning, cooking, and general household tasks.

- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
