Your Role as Support Worker



As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide day-to-day emotional and practical support, helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive. You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to making a tangible difference through consistency, compassion, and care.

Key responsibilities include:



Providing consistent emotional support throughout the day. Supporting daily routines including meals, education, personal care, and activities. Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour. Acting as a keyworker, helping young people set and review personal goals. Building trusting, positive relationships through one-to-one and group work. Safeguarding and protecting young people, following policies and risk assessments. Supporting household routines such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment. Keeping clear and accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily care. Taking part in handovers, meetings, and reflective practice sessions. Engaging in training, supervision, and continuous professional development.

What You'll Bring



At least 1 year's experience in residential childcare or a similar care setting (preferred). Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it. A compassionate, resilient, and child-focused approach. Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills. Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care. Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
