You'll play a vital role supporting children and young people aged 10-17 who have faced emotional or behavioural challenges. Your Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people -- helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their goals.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing consistent care and emotional support throughout the day
Supporting routines including meals, education, personal care, and activities
Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Acting as a keyworker, helping young people set and review personal goals
Building positive, trusting relationships through one-to-one and group work
Safeguarding and protecting young people, following policies and risk assessments
Supporting household routines such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment
Keeping clear and accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily care
Taking part in handovers, meetings, and reflective practice sessions
Engaging in training, supervision, and continued professional development
What You'll Bring
At least 1 year's experience in residential childcare or a similar care setting (preferred)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it
Compassionate, resilient, and child-focused approach
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisation skills
Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
