Exciting Opportunity in the Taunton Area

We are seeking a compassionate and committed Registered Children's Home Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Inspire Together. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in our care, enabling them to thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally. The ideal candidate will either already hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to work towards achieving this qualification within a specified timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Care and Support:



Provide consistent and high-quality care to children and young people in a residential setting. Develop positive relationships with the children, understanding their individual needs, preferences, and backgrounds.

2. Development and Well-being:



Assist in implementing personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs and goals. Foster a supportive environment that promotes self-esteem, personal and social development.

3. Education and Activities

:

Support children with their educational needs, homework, and extracurricular activities. Coordinate and participate in recreational and social activities.

4. Behaviour Management:



Employ positive behaviour management techniques and strategies to promote a harmonious environment. Be proactive in identifying potential triggers and intervene appropriately to prevent escalations.

5. Documentation and Reporting

:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's progress and any incidents as per organisational policies and procedures. Participate in team meetings and case reviews to discuss and plan care strategies.

6. Collaboration:



Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, educators, and other professionals involved in the children's lives. Engage with families and guardians, providing updates and support as necessary.

7. Compliance and Safety:



Ensure all activities and care practices comply with the relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. Promote a safe environment by following health and safety guidelines and reporting any concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

Essential:



Previous experience working with children in a residential or similar setting. A willingness to work towards or already hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for supporting and advocating for children and young people's needs. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

Desirable:



Experience in behaviour management techniques. Knowledge of child development and relevant legislation.
