The Joint Firearms Unit brings together hundreds of people with the same aim - to keep the Region safe.
We want to be the best at understanding and responding to our community's needs. To do this we need the very best candidates from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to become part of our policing family.
We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Resource and Planning Officer in the Joint Firearms Unit. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:

About the role and your key responsibilities:
To ensure that JFU resources are deployed in an efficient and effective manner, providing the JFU with a resilience to manage day to day policing demands and planned events.
To liaise with event organisers both internal and external and statutory bodies to plan and coordinate an appropriate police response for scheduled and unscheduled events.
To input and maintain rosters and rota information onto the Force(s) information systems and to manage and coordinate all resources for the JFU liaising with all relevant parties, this will also include maintaining Firearms Training Rotas.
There are numerous benefits to working for the Joint Firearms Unit, from learning and development opportunities to schemes which aim to improve your lifestyle and wellbeing, as well as generous Local Government Pension Scheme / Police Pension Schemes, paid annual leave, flexible working and family friendly policies and many more.
If you would like any more information about the role, please contact Sgt Richie Hier richard.hier@south-wales.police.uk
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
