Overnight Sleep-In (typically 16:30-08:30)
Contracts Available:
2 x Fixed Part-Time Contracts (1 sleep-in shift per week)
Additional Bank / Flexible Shifts Available to build your own shift pattern
Pay:
13.00 per hour (active hours) + 80 sleep-in allowance
Pay Breakdown
16:30 - 22:30: 13.00 per hour
22:30 - 06:30: 80 sleep-in allowance
06:30 - 08:30: 13.00 per hour
If required to provide support overnight: Paid at 13.00 per hour, calculated to the nearest 15 minutes
About Rise Up Care
Rise Up Care provides person-centred support to young adults aged 18-35 with learning disabilities, helping them build confidence, independence, and wellbeing in a safe, modern, and welcoming environment.
Our services are delivered across two centre-based settings and a self-contained respite flat in Preston, Paignton, allowing us to tailor support to individual needs while promoting real-world living skills.
We offer a range of purposeful support, including day services, community activities, overnight respite, and work-experience opportunities, all shaped around the goals and choices of the individuals we support.

About the Role
We are recruiting Respite Support Workers to support young adults aged 18-35 with learning disabilities during short-term overnight respite stays at our Rise Up Care flat.
This role does not involve personal care
. Instead, the focus is on:
Emotional reassurance
Supporting independence and life skills
Creating a calm, safe, and positive overnight environment
Each staff member and young person has their own private bedroom, with shared use of the kitchen, lounge, and bathroom.
The flat is located in Preston, Paignton a stones throw from Preston Beach and within walking distance of all local amenities and transport links across Torbay.
About the Sleep-In
Due to the nature of the young people we support, it is
very unusual for staff to be disturbed overnight
. The sleep-in is primarily to provide a reassuring on-site presence and respond if needed.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting evening and morning routines
Encouraging independence and confidence-building activities
Providing reassurance and supervision overnight
Maintaining a clean, calm, and welcoming flat environment
Completing clear overnight records and handovers on our digital care system
Working professionally and respectfully with young people and colleagues
About You
Calm, reliable, and emotionally aware
Confident working independently overnight
Passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities to develop independence and confidence
Able to use digital systems for recording and communication
Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check
A full UK driving licence is desirable for some respite shifts involving transport; however, this is
not essential
for the role and non-drivers are welcome to apply.
Experience in support or care is
desirable but not essential
