Synergize delivers responsive maintenance and voids works to Ministry of Defence (MOD) housing estates across London, Kent, and the Home Counties. We are seeking an experienced Response Manager to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of Response services across the contract.
This is a senior operational leadership role, pivotal to the efficient running of operatives and operational teams through strong line management of key team leads, including the Senior Scheduler, Delivery Managers, and Response Commercial Manager. You will act as the senior operational lead for Response services, accountable for service delivery, commercial performance, and client satisfaction.
Your approach will be uncompromising in standards, data-driven, and focused on continuous improvement and innovation. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, you will contribute to business growth initiatives beyond the current contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the delivery of all responsive maintenance works across the contract, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to client expectations
Provide strong line management to the Senior Scheduler, Delivery Managers, and other key leads, ensuring effective coordination between scheduling, operative delivery, and void preparations
Drive performance through detailed analysis of KPIs, SLAs, and operational dashboards, identifying trends, root causes of underperformance, and improvement opportunities
Champion the client's "Families First" ethos, embedding customer service excellence across all areas of service delivery
Oversee compliance with health and safety legislation, promoting a proactive, safety-first culture
Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution of escalated issues
Lead operational reviews, service improvement planning, and resource allocation to maximise productivity and quality outcomes
Work closely with commercial teams to understand and manage contract cost performance, budgets, and value opportunities
Ensure quality standards through site inspections, audits, and follow-up actions with supervisory teams
Support mobilisation of new workstreams and contribute operational input to strategic growth and bid activity
Drive training, development, and succession planning across response teams
Produce and present monthly performance reports to senior leadership, covering risks, delivery performance, and improvement actions

Extensive experience managing contracts within social housing or defence environments, particularly response and voids services
Proven track record managing field operations, scheduling, and supervisory teams
Experience in client liaison, stakeholder management, and issue resolution
Experience working closely with commercial teams to manage budgets and costs
Familiarity with MOD environments is desirable
Relevant management or construction qualification desirable (e.g. NVQ Level 5 or equivalent)
Full UK driving licence
