We are seeking a Response Supervisor to oversee the delivery of repairs and maintenance services for our building maintenance contracts (re-active and planned works), ensuring staff safety, compliance with standards, and efficient, high-quality service for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise a team of 10 operatives/apprentices, providing direction, training, and support.
Ensure all works comply with health, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Manage day-to-day operations, including resource planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Support pricing, costing, and invoicing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Conduct toolbox talks, vehicle inspections, site checks, and compliance audits.
Drive productivity through effective use of technology, systems, and reporting tools.
Liaise with clients and internal teams to deliver responsive, cost-effective services.
Support business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying improvements.
Objectives
Support the rollout of the Field Service Management platform.
Strengthen processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Contribute to business growth, customer retention, and profitability.

About you
We are looking for you to bring:
Essential:
Trade-related qualification and/or membership of a relevant professional body.
Supervisory experience in reactive maintenance/repairs within property services.
Proven ability to manage contractors, stakeholders, and clients effectively.
Strong understanding of procurement, contracts, health & safety, risk management, and minor works.
Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff across multiple sites.
Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Regular travel is required; you must have a Full UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle.
The role is safety-critical; overtime may be required where necessary.
Desirable:
IOSH Managing Safely certification (or willingness to achieve).
Experience using Field Service Management technology or similar systems.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and implement positive change.
Experience in financial management and resource planning.
Previous experience in building long-term client relationships and enhancing business reputation.
