At this exciting time when Lloyds Banking Group is starting to adopt AI at scale, we are seeking a deep expert in responsible AI to join our AI Centre of Excellence in the Chief Data and Analytics Office! This hands-on role will play a critical part in enabling the Business and Platforms in Responsible AI approaches and techniques, guiding a team of specialists who do the same!
The role will partner with the Platforms to define and build enterprise guardrails and help to mitigate AI risks in some of our key AI use cases. You will be at the front of responsible AI development.
This role is essential to helping Lloyds Banking Group scale responsible AI. You'll be expected to act as a transformative leader, with a strong vision, promoting a culture of safe and ethical AI throughout the organisation, advising our senior leaders.
In this role, you'll
Help to deliver best-in-class enterprise AI guardrails and AI monitoring solutions, working as a partner to our Machine Learning, Generative AI and Agentic Labs.
Accelerate the responsible development and deployment of frontier AI use cases, including AI agents.
Demonstrate leadership on responsible AI, helping to shape Lloyds Banking Group's standard of responsible AI adoption.
Identify opportunities and support embedding best-in-class approaches into AI development workflows.
Guide a team of Responsible AI Specialists who equally build out guardrails and enable key use cases.

What you'll need
PhD in AI or a related field or equivalent, significant industry experience working in a technical data role.
Proven experience developing AI solutions to the highest ethical standards, including directly engaging with AI product teams.
Expertise in AI risks particularly as it relates to Generative AI and Agentic AI, and how to mitigate these risks through tooling and procedures.
A good understanding of Cloud technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the Responsible AI tooling available on GCP / VertexAI.
Excellent relationship management with the ability to influence senior partners and course correct initiatives towards strategic outcomes.
Experience in team leadership.
