About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Responsible Individual or experienced registered manager who wants to progress into the RI role- to oversee the quality and compliance of one or more children's homes. You will play a critical leadership role in ensuring that the homes deliver safe, consistent, and child-centred care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted expectations.
You will work closely with Registered Managers to support them in delivering outstanding care, maintaining compliance, and achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance across all operational aspects of the home(s)
Ensure homes are fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations (2015)
Offer guidance and professional support to Registered Managers and senior teams
Monitor performance, conduct regular visits, audits, and evaluations
Act as the link between the organisation and Ofsted, local authorities, and other stakeholders
Support and promote continuous improvement, safeguarding, and child-centred practice
Report to senior leadership on performance, risks, and developmental needs
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Responsible Individual, Regional Manager, or senior leader in children's residential care
In-depth knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding procedures
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Commitment to high standards and improving the lives of vulnerable children
Ability to travel across sites if overseeing multiple homes
