Caredom Healthcare is launching a new children's residential home and we're seeking an experienced and committed
Responsible Individual
to lead this important phase of development. This is a
temporary 6-month opportunity
for a highly capable leader who can ensure the home is built on strong foundations of
compliance, care quality, and therapeutic support
.
You'll bring both operational and strategic expertise to guide the home through registration, team building, and initial service delivery -- ensuring that all activities reflect our
child-centred and therapeutic ethos

Your Key Responsibilities
Act as
Responsible Individual
with Ofsted for up to two residential children's homes.
Champion and embed Caredom Healthcare's
therapeutic care principles
in daily practice and policy.
Oversee regulatory compliance, including up-to-date
Statements of Purpose
, audits, risk assessments, and care planning documents.
Take a lead role in
safeguarding
-- including managing serious incidents, liaising with professionals (e.g. LADO, Ofsted), and initiating safeguarding investigations and actions.
Provide oversight and support to homes, particularly in the
absence of Registered Managers
.
Participate in and support
Ofsted inspections
and other statutory visits, ensuring that feedback is acted upon swiftly and thoroughly.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including
local authorities, healthcare professionals, police, education providers
, and internal teams.
Review Regulation 44 and 45 reports, ensuring they meet standards prior to submission.
Carry out
internal quality audits
, identify improvements, and develop clear action plans for Registered Managers.
Lead the development and delivery of the
Residential Services Annual Plan
.
Ensure all
company policies and procedures
are current, relevant, and aligned with statutory guidance.
Deliver regular
supervision and development support
to Registered Managers.
Support the recruitment,
onboarding, and mentoring of new managers
, including overseeing their induction and regulatory registration.
Collaborate with HR on performance reviews, staffing challenges, and team wellbeing.
Take on any other relevant duties to support the quality and development of Caredom Healthcare's residential services.
What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements
Must be
21+
(as per Ofsted regulations for residential care roles)
Prior experience as a
Responsible Individual
, or in
registering a new children's home
Experience working in a
strategic or senior leadership
role within residential childcare
Strong understanding of
therapeutic care
, SEND support, and EHCP processes
NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent) in
Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare
In-depth knowledge of:
Children's Homes Regulations 2015
Quality Standards
Safeguarding legislation and frameworks
Confidence working with
external professionals and regulatory bodies
Desirable
NVQ/Diploma Level 7 in Strategic Leadership and Management
