Blackbrooks Garden Centre is a well-established, customer-focused business with a popular on-site restaurant, known for quality food, excellent service, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Restaurant Assistant to join our team at our Lower Dicker site.
The Role
As a Restaurant Assistant, you will support both the front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our customers. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in great service, and is happy to support different areas of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service at all times
Assist with table service, taking orders, and serving food and drinks
Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation as required
Assist with plating, food presentation, and delivering dishes
Clear tables, maintain cleanliness, and keep service areas tidy
Ensure food hygiene, health, and safety standards are followed
Support stock control, restocking, and stock rotation
Handle customer enquiries and feedback politely and professionally
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth service during busy periods
Assist with opening and closing duties when required
About You
Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is beneficial but not essential
Willingness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude
Strong communication skills and a friendly manner
Good attention to detail and organisation
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Reliable and flexible, including weekends and busy seasonal periods
