Job Description

We are seeking a

dynamic, hands-on General Manager

to lead our established, high-volume restaurant. The ideal candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experience, and high team performance -- so that the owners do not need to be physically present.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Take full ownership of daily restaurant operations, including front and back of house. Ensure all service standards, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations are consistently met. Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier management to reduce waste and maximise efficiency.

Staff Management

Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a high-performing team. Manage rotas, scheduling, and staff costs effectively. Lead by example on the floor, ensuring a culture of professionalism and accountability.

Customer Experience

Guarantee the highest standards of guest service and hospitality. Resolve complaints and feedback swiftly, ensuring repeat business and strong reputation. Be a visible presence in the restaurant, building rapport with guests and the local community.

Financial Management

Monitor daily/weekly P&L performance, driving revenue while controlling costs. Implement systems to increase efficiency and profitability. Report clearly and regularly to the owners with updates and performance reviews.

Business Development

Contribute ideas for events, promotions, and collaborations to drive footfall and sales. Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity. Ensure social media, marketing, and branding are aligned with the restaurant's vision.
Requirements

Proven experience as a

General Manager or senior management role

in a busy, high-quality restaurant. Strong leadership and people management skills with a hands-on approach. Excellent financial acumen and understanding of restaurant P&L. Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities. Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
