Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting meal preparation and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head chef or cook. Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, including proper storage of ingredients and maintaining hygiene practices. Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and service as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals during service periods. Participate in inventory management by helping to track stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Understanding of food safety regulations and practices. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
