Restaurant Manager - Menu Gordon Jones, Bath (BA2)
Salary: 34,000 - 40,000 DOE + Tips
Hours: Full-time | Approx. 40 hours per week | Stable, sensible rota
Menu Gordon Jones is one of Bath's most iconic and intimate dining experiences -- a Michelin Guide-listed, tasting-menu restaurant where creativity, originality, and relaxed fine-dining come together. With a small number of covers, an open kitchen, and a constantly evolving surprise menu, the atmosphere is warm, playful, and deeply personal.
We are now seeking an experienced and personable Restaurant Manager to lead the front-of-house experience. This is a hands-on, guest-focused role for someone who loves great service, consistency, and the unique rhythm of a tasting-menu restaurant.
The Role
As Restaurant Manager, you will run the dining room with confidence and calm precision. You will:
Lead service from the front and act as the main point of contact for guests
Manage a small FOH team, ensuring smooth and friendly service throughout
Own the reservation system, guest communication, and pre-service organisation
Maintain a relaxed but highly polished dining atmosphere
Work closely with the Chef-Owner to ensure a seamless guest journey
Carry out end-of-day duties such as cashing up and stock control
Take pride in presentation, service flow, and the overall guest experience
This is a role where your personality and hosting style matter as much as your technical knowledge.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in fine dining, tasting-menu restaurants, or high-quality independent operations
Naturally warm, confident, and charming with guests
Detail-oriented, calm, and organised in a small, high-intensity dining room
Comfortable managing service, reservations, and team coordination
Passionate about food, wine, and genuine hospitality
A hands-on leader who sets the tone for the whole guest experience
Wine knowledge, tasting-menu experience, and an ability to guide guests confidently are strong advantages.
What's on Offer
34,000 - 40,000 salary, depending on experience
Additional tips/service charge
40-hour working week -- rare for fine dining
A key leadership position in one of Bath's most respected independent restaurants
Warm, down-to-earth working culture with supportive ownership
Career stability with a long-standing, award-winning business
Opportunities to influence service style and guest experience
Staff meals, pension contributions, and a supportive environment
