We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our establishment. The family-run restaurant is located in the busy Grassmarket area of Edinburgh. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily restaurant activities, manage staff, and uphold high standards of food safety and customer service. A passion for the hospitality industry and excellent leadership skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient service and customer satisfaction
Supervise and motivate staff, including chefs, servers, and kitchen personnel
Manage food preparation processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food production and timely service
Implement and monitor food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations
Organise staff schedules, training sessions, and performance evaluations
Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory control
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
Ensure the restaurant adheres to all safety standards and cleanliness requirements
Assist in developing menus in collaboration with culinary team to enhance dining experience
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong team management and leadership abilities
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
Experience in food safety standards and food production processes
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Knowledge of hospitality operations including serving, barista experience, or hotel experience is advantageous
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills to liaise with staff and customers effectively
Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere
Salary is negotiable depending on experience and tips are exceptional due to high tourist turnover (up to 15k annually).
