We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of food and beverage operations within our establishment. The operation covers all areas including managing cafe and restaurant operations in a retail and formal setting along with assisting in the management of weddings and other private functions in what is a 12 months a year operation with a busy social calendar of fixed and irregular events. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and time management skills, ensuring that events and the restaurant run smoothly and exceed guest expectations. This role requires excellent communication abilities, a background in hospitality or restaurant management is essential, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest services.
Duties
Plan, organise, and execute all restaurant, functions and events run smoothly, ensuring alignment with client expectations and hotel standards.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and presentation of food and beverages.
Manage the various teams, providing training, support, and guidance to ensure high levels of service.
Develop and implement upselling strategies to enhance event offerings and maximise revenue.
Liaise with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and any special requests for their events.
Monitor event setups to ensure they meet specifications regarding layout, decor, and equipment.
Handle any issues or complaints promptly and professionally to maintain guest satisfaction.
Assist in fundraising events as required, promoting the venue's capabilities to potential clients.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or hotel industry is essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely execution of events.
Proficient communication skills for effective interaction with guests, staff, and vendors.
Experience in upselling services or products is highly desirable.
A background in guest services is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
