Duties

Greet and welcome guests promptly upon arrival, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable. Take food and drink orders accurately, providing recommendations and upselling menu items when appropriate. Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner, adhering to food safety standards throughout the process. Ensure that tables are set up correctly before service and cleaned promptly after guests depart. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication regarding orders and special requests. Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism, striving to resolve any issues efficiently. Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests effectively. Perform basic math calculations for order totals and manage cash handling responsibly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred, with an understanding of guest services. Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices is essential. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members. Basic culinary knowledge or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure are crucial for success in this role.
