This is a full-time (35 hours per week) role in the Greater Manchester Restorative Justice Service. The Coordinator will provide direct line management and support for a team of Restorative Justice (RJ) Practitioners working restoratively with adult offenders and victims of crime across Greater Manchester. The Coordinator will also hold a small, high-tariff caseload to support the team.
The Coordinator will be required to:
Provide case supervision for RJ Practitioners.
Be the first point of contact for the team and deal with any personal or wellbeing issues, casework and safeguarding concerns in the first instance.
Deputise for the Manager where required, including attending local meetings.
Hold a reduced caseload of sensitive and complex cases.
Complete administrative duties as required.
Support the Manager and team to achieve service and project expectations.
Promote the service through social media, attending briefings and engaging with partner agencies.
Support the Manager with recruitment and inducting new staff.
Shadow and develop RJ Practitioners.
Support the Manager with quarterly reports.
Oversee and manage databases capturing all work delivered for this project.
Be responsible for the authorisation of expenses and leave for the team.
Being innovative and proactive in supporting the Manager with increasing referrals into the project
Deliver training/presentations to partnership agencies.
Attend Remedi Managers' Meetings.
Support the Manager in ensuring adherence to GDPR, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities policies.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge:
You will be expected to have a clear understanding of the service and the key agencies we work with. You will need to be up to date with Remedi's policies and procedures in relation to staff (TOIL, expenses, annual leave, sick leave, Safeguarding, GDPR etc.)
Communication:
You will need to communicate with a wide range of agencies and professionals: the Remedi staff team, partner agency personnel, partner agency senior management and service users. You will be required to undertake presentations in various settings regarding work undertaken. You will need to communicate with the Manager regularly and raise any concerns or issues about staff or services at the earliest opportunity.
Leadership Skills:
You will need to motivate a team of professional people to meet targets and work to a high standard, provide effective support, provide professional supervision, lead by example and ensure all team members feel valued and recognised in their roles.
Flexibility: You will be required to provide support to the RJ Practitioners and the Manager and therefore will need to take a flexible approach to meet the demands of the service. Motivation: An ability to work on your own initiative and identify areas of the project which can be delivered and streamlined for a more effective service is essential. IT Capable:
Basic IT skills are required with the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. You will be required to produce accurate and professional written reports and update all of the work done on a case management system. We will encourage and expect you to maximise the use of remote methods of working with people. It is essential therefore that you are comfortable with using platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Safety:
We want you to work safely in all aspects of the role, including basic health and safety, safeguarding for all concerned, data protection and risk assessment. Full training will be provided and we will be looking for someone committed to achieving high standards on this.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Line Manager will meet with you individually at least once a month and they will also be available during the week to provide support and guidance.
The role covers all boroughs of Greater Manchester. You will be reimbursed for travel expenses. To be considered for the role,
you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
