Symondsbury Estate

Is a stunning private Estate and working farm, located on the outskirts of Bridport and just a stone's throw away from the Jurassic Coast. Offering holiday accommodation including a glamping site, wedding venue, cafe, estate grown food and plants and independent retail outlets. Symondsbury Estate is set in acres of ancient woodlands with stunning views, which visitors can walk, cycle and enjoy. It's a small, vibrant community with big ambitions.

Visitor Centre

Our Visitor Centre is right in the heart of the estate and delivers an inspirational retail experience. We have a diverse and intriguing mix of products to suit all pockets including, outdoor goods, giftware, books, children's educational gifts, hot drinks and deliciously tempting food. We strive to bring something unique to this corner of West Dorset, sourcing products from local artisans and suppliers, the UK and the wider world. We are particularly proud of our estate products including, plants and vegetables lovingly nurtured by our gardening team to supply the shop and cafe and tasty 'food to go' in our deli counter.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day shop keeping operations

Interact with customers and a delivery an exemplary level of customer service

Serving hot and cold food and drinks from the Symondsbury Estate Deli

Develop a thorough knowledge of our product ranges

Stock replenishment and ensuring our products are always looking their best

Maintain outstanding store condition and presentation

Through training, develop a wider understanding of the Estate and communicate the brand story with customers

Be flexible to working across other areas of the Estate when required, namely our Home & Garden store

Engage in company training to develop your skills and immerse yourself in the Symondsbury Estate Brand

Skills and experience

Preferably experience working in a retail or customer-facing environment

Excellent communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Highly organised and reliable

Previous experience in food preparation preferable

Understand sales targets and have an attitude to succeed

Team player

Confident, energetic, and enthusiastic

A creative eye for merchandising would be desirable
