Retail & Distribution Manager-Multi Site
Strawberry Fields Farm Shop has a new and exciting opportunity for an inspiring & dynamic hands-on Retail & Distribution Manager to work alongside our fun, award winning and extremely fast paced team.
As Retail & Distribution Manager you will have a strong background in retail and warehousing, with vast experience of retail store management and distribution. You will be able to support our business through a period of change and rapid growth, ensuring that our customers receive only the highest quality service and best possible experience each and every time.
Experience of warehouse operations and distribution is essential as you would be responsible for managing our busy warehouse, controlling goods in, booking in of stock. Picking orders to supply our busy satellite sites and ensuring they receive all orders on time in full, working closely with the heads of departments drilling down into the detail, implementing corrective actions to eliminate any shortages. In addition to managing our warehouse and distribution you would be responsible for managing the retail operation of our large farm shop at Lifton as well as heading up the retail elements of our satellite stores.
Job Summary
Hands on management of all day to day store operations for our Lifton head office and all satellite stores.
Maintain awareness of and keep current with market trends in the retail industry, monitor what competitors are doing, respond and engage in social media, organise marketing activities and promotional events
Capable of understanding optimum stock levels, using the EPOS system effectively to inform ordering-which lines should be kept to a minimum to ensure utilisation of warehouse and ease of stock taking and which lines should carry back stock
Build strong relationships with suppliers, with a responsibility for all ordering you must be tenacious and capable of driving down prices and striking the very best deals
Respond to customer enquiries in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to support continuing efforts to deliver outstanding customer service and profitability
To fully understand the needs of the customer and strive to exceed those expectations by creating a service first culture, proactively suggesting ways to improve
Recognise the changing needs of our customers, managing and resolving problems, ensuring product availability all day, every day
Analyse sales data and regularly review the range to ensure that we have the optimum stock that is current and relevant for our customers, identify key opportunities for improvement
Ensure best practice across shop floor including compliance with all systems and procedures
Tour the shop floor regularly each day, manage own time effectively around critical business events and peak trading period
Responsible for ensuring all merchandising, ensuring point of sale is accurate and store cleanliness is maintained to the highest standard
Capable of merchandising fixtures to promote the business activity that is live in the moment, have a real flare for displays and promotions, using initiative to build fixtures that inspire and wow our customers
Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, team members and suppliers on a daily basis
Inspire, lead and coach the in store team, reviewing training and succession planning communicating with all team members all relevant business information
Manage all warehouse/goods in operations, ensuring warehouse is structured & organised, all stock is correctly booked in and all systems are maintained
Mange distribution to our satellite stores, ensuring all orders are supplied on time, in full, implementing corrective actions to eliminate shortages.
Implement a robust stock holding system for all stock required for our satellite stores ensuring all product lines have sufficient back stock for next day delivery.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Skills and experience
You will be highly organised, hands on, determined, and energetic with a can do attitude.
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress.
Up-to-date with market trends and optimized stock handling processes.
Proven experience as a store manager, looking for a new and exciting opportunity.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Full understanding of stock management and system maintenance
Proven ability to lead a team, inspire, encourage and mentor.
Extensive knowledge of a retail environment
Capable of delivering change in a fast moving environment
Capable of carrying out a fully autonomous role and delivering the right business priorities at the right time with little supervision
A flare for displaying and promoting our produce, building fixtures that inspire and wow
A very busy, unrelenting role, you will need to be made of tough stuff!
Salary dependant on experience
