Are you a hands-on, reliable and experienced driver? Are you looking to work for a highly regarded York-based charity and give back to the local community?

At St Leonard's Hospice, we have a great opportunity for a part-time Retail Driver to join our driving team to help maximise income generation within the Home Collection service.


Working in a team of two each day, your main priorities as a Retail Driver will be to:


Follow the daily schedules to carry out deliveries and collections of furniture and goods Transfer goods between the retail shops Collect goods for delivery to customers Remove and safely dispose of any waste material Ensure the vehicles are safe and maintained

Our ideal candidate will have:

Experience of driving a variety of vehicles which includes larger vans Good customer service skills and have the ability to be sensitive and empathetic when working with the public Experience of working as part of a team A 'can-do' attitude and the ability to manage time and prioritise tasks

Experience of collecting and delivering goods is desirable and ideally, you will possess a good geographical knowledge of York and the surrounding area. This role is physically demanding too as there is a significant amount of lifting, moving and handling of items which can include stock items, heavy donation bags and light pieces of furniture.

This is a part-time position working

22.5 hours per week

between 8am and 4pm.
