What do you need to succeed as a Retail Manager?
Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record in automotive retail
A high level of professional acumen and an outstanding work ethic
Excellent communication, influence, and negotiation skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team to achieve exceptional results
Proven capability to meet and exceed monthly sales and finance targets
Strong relationship-building skills with customers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders
What does the Retail Manager role involve?
Optimising new and used vehicle sales performance in line with budget and manufacturer targets
Maximising all finance and insurance income opportunities across the sales department
Supporting and motivating the sales team to convert enquiries into profitable vehicle and finance sales
Overseeing sales reporting for new and used vehicles, identifying trends, shortfalls, and opportunities
Working closely with the General Sales Manager to set targets, monitor performance, and deliver business plans
Coaching and developing the team through regular performance reviews and structured feedback
Ensuring every customer journey is compliant, transparent, and delivers an exceptional experience
Building long-term customer loyalty by establishing needs, presenting tailored solutions, and retaining customers to the brand
