What we are looking for
We are currently seeking a Retail Operations Manager to join our Ticketing and Retail department on a maternity cover basis, based in our offices at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire.
What youll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Ticketing & Retail Manager/Head of Marketing you will be responsible for the inventory management, stock movement and buying of product lines for the Ascot Shop.
We have 2 shops on site year round, increasing to 5 shops on site over our premier event Royal Ascot. We are also in the process of growing our online store with a view to increase 24/7 sales of our collections.
This role would require attendance to all racedays (with some Saturday/Sunday working) including the week of Royal Ascot.
Principal Responsibilities
Inventory management, organising quarterly stock takes of all areas and updating the system accordingly.
Organising the stock areas by collections/product type.
Managing the logistics of deliveries and distribution of new stock.
Managing the budget lines for opex and stock. Raising POs accordingly and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Supporting the Ticketing and Retail Manager with the cash management and reconciliation of the shops, collecting the monies from the banks each morning and monitoring cash levels throughout the day. Performing cash lifts as and when required.
EOD reconciliation of monies and returning to the bank the following morning.
Maintain outstanding shop condition and visual merchandising standards, ensuring full stock levels in all shops.
Management and monitoring of stock levels and adjusting as required during event days.
Familiarisation with stock areas to accommodate quick and efficient movement of stock as required
Work with the marketing teams and the Ticketing & Retail Manager to increase awareness of the online store.
Support the Ticketing and Retail Manager with the management of the casual retail teams.
Management of the Shopify POS system to accurately monitor stock levels and pre-empt movements and stock requirements.
Establishing good communication with the retail teams to ensure any requests for additional stock are dealt with promptly.
Follow all company policies and procedures
Supporting the wider Ticketing and Retail team as required.
Skills and experience you can bring
Proven working experience in retail operations, dealing with inventory/stock management.
Excellent attention to detail
Accuracy at all times
An understanding of the events industry and the rhythms in which this functions
Good IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Knowledge of Shopify would be desirable.
Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
Proficiency in English
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
