Retail & Kitchen Assistant

to join our friendly team on a

temporary maternity cover contract

.

This position involves

overnight shifts

and offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a supportive team environment -- with the potential for the role to become

permanent

for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Retail / Shop Duties (Primary Focus):

Serve customers, operate the till, and provide excellent customer service Restock shelves and maintain attractive product displays Keep the store clean, tidy, and welcoming Use upselling techniques to promote key products and offers Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth store operations

Kitchen Duties (Secondary):

Assist with daily food preparation and overnight bake-off (e.g. pastries, pizzas, sandwiches) Maintain high hygiene standards in food areas, including cleaning and sanitising equipment Support with stock rotation and replenishment of kitchen supplies Cover kitchen breaks and assist during busy periods

What We're Looking For

Experience in retail, kitchen, or customer service roles is an advantage - full training provided*
Reliable, motivated, and comfortable working overnight hours Good communication and time-management skills Ability to work well as part of a team A clean UK driving licence is essential
