Job Description
The League of Friends RJAH shop and post office, has been a vital service at the Robert Jones, Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Trust in Oswestry for many years. Patients, staff and visitors to the Trust, frequent the shop seven days a week. It supplies gifts and cards, refreshments, newspapers, essential items and much more.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and great customer service to join our retail team, working in the shop on a part time basis.
The shop is busy and you will be asked to fulfill a range of activities during your shift. You must be willing to listen and understand the needs of the customers and the Volunteers who will work alongside you; promoting a positive and friendly environment.
Responsibilities include:
Customer Service - Serving and assisting customers. Processing customer transactions and handling payments. Essential retail activities include: Replenishing the stock, managing and sorting deliveries and ensuring the shop is clean, tidy and appealing to the customers. Administer appropriate food and hygiene procedures and checks. (Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety is desirable but not essential.) Opening and closing of shop premises. Reporting to the Shop Manager. Supporting and guiding Volunteers who will work alongside you. Supporting staff in the Post Office - full training will be given.
