Retail Sales Assistant (part Time)
Job Description
We are a small family business fireplace showroom situated in Hessle, Hull. We have been in the business for over 30 years now, so we know a thing or two about fires !. We sell a variety of goods and also have an installation team. We are looking for a part-time sales assistant to work in the showroom. This requires someone who has retail experience, speaking to customers face-to-face politely and confidently and attending to phone calls. The main job will be to sell goods to customers. We sell a variety of goods, including gas, electric and solid fuel fires& stoves and surrounds and realise there will be training needed to learn and understand the products.
The role is for 20 Hours a week, 2 days during the week 9.30am -4.30pm and Saturday 10am-4pm
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: From 12.50 per hour
Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner, providing product information and recommendations. Manage inventory by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise effectively. Handle transactions accurately using the cash register and ensure proper phone etiquette. Maintain a clean and organised sales floor, adhering to company standards. Utilise time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet customer needs efficiently. Communicate effectively with team members and customers, leveraging bilingual or multilingual abilities when necessary.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus Experience in merchandising and retail sales Proficient in English with basic math skills Excellent time management and organisational skills Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service practices Ability to adapt to various locations and work environments
