What we are looking for
We're looking for an experienced retail professional to support the Retail Store Manager on our busiest holiday park. Someone who has the drive to take our retail operation and make it a commercial and critical success through creative thinking and practical and diligent implementation.
A can-do attitude, attention to detail and excellent people skills are essential. Being available to work evenings and weekends including bank holidays are also essential.
The shop on site at Tattershall Lakes is a busy fast paced business. Dealing with high volumes of customers, cooking hot food to go, as well as ordering stock and dealing with deliveries daily. We are looking for someone with a passion in retail, who is keen to learn the business and help expand what we do.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of our team of Holiday Heroes, you will be supporting the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, making sure that our guests experience the best possible time with us. This includes:
Leading, training, and motivating a team to deliver delight.
Overseeing the smooth running of the venue, the preparation for service, as well as overseeing service and supervising the after-service duties.
Working alongside the team in a fast paced, high-volume venue with a constant eye on delivering world class service.
Driving revenue through service and sales whilst having an eye on profitable growth, delivered with care and flair.
Controlling margin through careful stock management and stock reconciliation through stocktakes.
Supporting and standing in for the Retail Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
Ordering stock from a list of approved suppliers.
Dealing with numerous deliveries on a daily basis.
One more thing...holidays happen at holiday times and eating, and drinking goes on in into the night, so you'll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends too.
Skills, experience, and qualities you'll need
We have high standards! We'll train you up, but you must:
Have previous experience in a Retail environment
Show evidence of your superb people management skills
Have an eye for detail, a head for business and a mindset for innovation
Have knowledge and experience of retail and its many challenges
Have energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
Nice to have but not essential
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don't).
Level 2 in Food safety
Experience of working in the holiday sector
Retail experience
Stock taking experience
