Job Description

We're looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Powis Castle and Garden, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.

Salary:

12.25 an hour

Duration:

Fixed Term Contract until 28 February 2026

Hours:

This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible.


Shifts will usually be 5 hours long, either 11-4 or 12-5. Weekend and bank holiday working is required but is fairly shared out with the rest of the team.

What you'll be doing:As a member of the retail team, you'll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You'll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.


You'll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
