Help make homes warmer, healthier and cheaper to run. We're looking for a

Retrofit Assessor

to join Align Property Services' growing Retrofit Department, supporting residential retrofit programmes across North Yorkshire.

If you have strong attention to detail, enjoy working with people, and like the idea of a role that mixes site visits with clear reporting, we'd love to hear from you. You don't need previous retrofit experience - we will provide full training and support you to gain the relevant qualifications and accreditation.

Gather accurate property data on building fabric, insulation, heating and hot water, ventilation and other relevant features. Complete condition observations and basic building pathology notes to support appropriate improvements selection. Produce clear, well-structured reports for the wider retrofit team (including Retrofit Coordinators, Designers and Installers). Liaise professionally with residents, homeowners and stakeholders, explaining the process and managing expectations. Maintain accurate records, photos and evidence files, meeting programme timescales and data quality requirements.
What we're looking for

Essential

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate information. Confident communicator - able to build rapport with residents and explain what you're doing, calmly and professionally. Organised and reliable, with good time management and the ability to plan your own visits. IT confident and comfortable learning new software and processes. A genuine interest in homes, construction, energy efficiency or sustainability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Desirable (not essential - we can train you)

A background in surveying, domestic energy assessment, building inspection, housing, construction or a similar customer-facing technical role. Any relevant qualification such as Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), Retrofit Assessor (RA), or ABBE Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency Measures for Older and Traditional Buildings. Experience with accredited retrofit / energy assessment software (e.g., ECMK).
