The Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-driven
Retrofit Designer
to join our expanding team in Hull. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge of retrofit measures, building fabric and PAS 2035 requirements. You will play a key part in reviewing surveys, producing compliant designs and supporting the delivery of high-quality retrofit projects across our region.
Key Responsibilities
Producing PAS 2035-compliant designs for a wide range of retrofit measures.
Reviewing technical surveys, photographs and property data to ensure every design is accurate, safe and suitable.
Assessing proposed measures and installation methods to ensure full compliance with PAS 2035 and Building Regulations.
Working closely with the Retrofit Coordinator, Surveyors and Compliance teams to support project completion.
Ensuring all design outputs are uploaded to our CRM/project management system in a timely and accurate manner.
Identifying design risks, technical issues or property constraints, and escalating where appropriate.
Staying up to date with legislation, scheme guidance, product standards and emerging best practices.
Maintaining strong communication with internal teams to support collaboration and quality assurance.
Supporting continuous improvement within the design process and wider retrofit workflow.
Requirements
Experience in retrofit design, building surveying or another built-environment role.
Strong understanding of PAS 2035, Building Regulations and whole-house retrofit principles.
Knowledge of building fabric, insulation types, ventilation requirements and common housing archetypes.
Ability to interpret technical survey data, site photographs and property information.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple design workflows.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with cross-functional teams.
IT competency, including CRM or project management systems.
Relevant qualification in Construction, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying or Retrofit (preferred).
Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
