Reunification Support Worker

37 hours per week



To cover maternity leave until 31 October 2026



We are currently seeking a Reunification Support Worker to join the Reunification Team to cover for maternity. Sitting within the Fostering Service, the role will require you to undertake direct work with care experienced children and young people, their carers and families to ensure that their placements and permanence plans are successful, including both in-county and out-of-county placements.



The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in working within the legislative, regulatory and policy framework of the Safeguarding and Assessment Service. They will have proven experience of working therapeutically with children, families, carers and professionals; to create Reunification Support Plans aimed at supporting a child during transition between placements and working collaboratively with children's social workers to support children and young people to return home.



The successful candidate will desirably have experience in the planning and delivery of Life Story work, therapeutic parenting support including tools and strategies, chairing family group conferences/meetings where necessary and ensuring all information is accurately recorded and shared within a timely manner. The role can include having to work outside of office hours including weekends when needed so the successful applicant will need to have the flexibility to work to meet the needs of children and their families and carers.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.



Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.



An Enhanced Children and Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.



A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
