About the role





As Revenue Manager you are critical to shaping and implementing TPE's Revenue Management strategy in a fast-moving and highly competitive travel market. This strategy has already delivered millions of great value Advance tickets to customers in recent years and has been successful in growing the number of journeys made on TPE trains. The role aims to deliver tickets at the most suitable price levels to customers, while balancing the business objectives of increasing revenue, growing market share and ensuring high quality of customer service is achieved.



The successful candidate will be in control of Advance ticket inventory, setting quotas and price points for specific routes on TPE's network. This is a dynamic process in which you will be encouraged to think creatively, experiment with different tactics and identify new opportunities which will help maximise revenue. Decision making will be informed by your high-quality analysis of a wide variety of datasets. Reporting to the Head of Revenue Management, you will also work closely with colleagues in the Service Planning, Marketing and Retail teams to meet individual and team targets.



The role includes managing TPE's reservation system, with frequent communication with frontline colleagues in booking offices and on-train. You will also be expected to support and influence business cases with the knowledge you build. This will include specifying, deploying, and testing new tools that will help to drive TPE's growth even further.


About you





With a degree (or equivalent) ideally in a quantitative discipline, you'll be an organised, approachable, and reliable professional. You will be highly analytical with great attention to detail, and have the ability to identify significant trends and variances to forecast. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to convey key information to colleagues across the company. Ideally, you will have experience of working within a commercial organisation, preferably in a revenue management role or one including commercial analysis. Your IT skills are very strong covering as a minimum Word and Excel, and ideally some experience of data science or visualization. You will also be quick to learn bespoke rail industry systems. You'll have a good understanding of the rail and transport industries, ideally covering TPE geography and operations.
