The Opportunity
We are looking for a Rigger to join our team at Sellafield on a permanent basis. As a Rigger, you will be required to deliver a high quality, consistent and competent rigging/ lifting construction service in accordance with project and company requirements, standards and procedures whilst conforming to UK Regulations and Standards.
How you will make an impact
Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure safety and reliability
Set up and attach rigging equipment to loads for lifting and positioning
Signal crane or hoist operators to facilitate alignment and movement
Calculate weight loads and determine the appropriate rigging gear
Perform lifting and rigging tasks in accordance with site-specific safety plans and engineering instructions
Assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, cranes, and temporary structures
Maintain records of rigging equipment and inspections
Collaborate with crane operators, supervisors, and other crew members
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisors
What you will bring
Experience of working in the Construction industry - proven experience as a Rigger in construction, oil & gas, maritime, or industrial projects preferred
Experience of working on a Nuclear site desirable
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety principles
NVQ L3 Qualified
ACE Card and Safety Passport
Proven experience as a Rigger in construction, oil & gas, maritime, or industrial projects
Valid rigging certification (e.g. CITB, or relevant local certification)
Strong knowledge of lifting gear, rigging tools, and hand signals
Ability to read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and safety procedures
Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
