What Is the Opportunity? As a Risk Control Property Specialist you\xe2\x80\x99ll have experience of surveying a broad range of property risks and be able to evaluate the suitability of sprinkler systems according LPC, NFPA and FM sprinkler standards. Your responsibilities will include undertaking surveys and technical support, delivery of consulting to our largest customers, coaching and development of less experienced staff and demonstrating leadership to the business around property exposures. You will work closely with US Risk Control colleagues helping to promote a shared understanding of Country and industry standards. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of our growth plans here in Europe using your knowledge and experience to support superior risk selection and the underwriting of profitable business.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company\xe2\x80\x99s discretion.

This role is eligible for a \xc2\xa35,000 new joiner bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

  • Conducts specialty surveys at client locations to determine potential hazards and risk factors at the request of customers, or to assist in underwriting/risk selection.
  • Documents findings and recommendations to underwriting teams and/or clients.
  • Consults with clients on ways to control hazards in order to reduce or mitigate losses. Influences clients to implement recommendations.
  • Serves as a technical resource to Risk Control Consultants and underwriters.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with underwriting and service teams assigned to business units, with the broker/agent community, with claims, with other Risk Control staff, and with clients.
  • Invites risk control consultants, brokers and agents on co-surveys when appropriate, to further develop/strengthen staff and develop relationships with brokers and agents.
  • May conduct research for underwriters or clients on class of business, operations or any other technical subject requiring similar analysis.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory environment and emerging issues in the specialty.
  • Understands and applies the large account servicing strategies concepts where appropriate, helping clients develop ongoing programmes for continuous risk improvement.
  • Operates in accordance with Travelers policies, procedures and controls (including audit requirements) at all times.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of materials and guidelines for clients/brokers, including delivery of training/presentations/conferences/seminars as required.
  • Promotes Travelers products and philosophy by regular visits to clients\' premises, maximising the opportunities for growth and profit of the commercial business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What is a Must Have?
  • Experience in safety, risk control, or related fields including but not limited to construction, manufacturing or relevant military experience or bachelor\'s degree in related field required.
  • Must be able to attain appropriate certification to meet legal requirements where applicable.

If you decide to contribute an additional amount from your salary, you will receive an increased company contribution up to a maximum of 3%. This would bring the total company contribution to 12%.
