Hours of work: 15 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
Responsible to: The Town Clerk
The main purpose of the role is:
To maintain clean and clear public walkways.
Key tasks and Accountabilities:
Sweeping pavements.
Weeding where requested.
Watering town planters and hanging baskets (varies seasonally).
Perform routine inspection and maintenance activities.
Notify the Town Clerk of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
Advise the Town Clerk of required adjustments and minor repairs.
The responsibility for the smooth running of the Town Council is incumbent on all members of staff. During times of absence of colleagues or high workloads, you may be expected to help with or take on additional duties and responsibilities, which are in line with your grade.
To accept personal responsibility for safety as per the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
The post holder will, on occasions, be:
Expected to attend staff appraisal meetings and training courses.
expected to undertake any other duties which it would be reasonable for the Town Council to ask as part of the role.
