About Us

Swift Robotics is a UK-based robotics company designing and manufacturing intelligent service robots entirely in the UK. We specialise in modular robotic platforms that integrate advanced navigation, perception, and control technologies for use in healthcare and other public-facing environments.We are looking for a Robotics Engineer to join our team and lead core development on our autonomy stack.

The Role

You will work on enhancing the navigation and autonomy of our mobile robot platforms. This includes migrating our systems from ROS 1 to ROS 2, improving localisation and path planning algorithms, and integrating new sensors. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver a robust, high-performing robotic system suited for dynamic, real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the migration from ROS 1 to ROS 2 Develop and optimise navigation, obstacle avoidance, and path planning systems Integrate and calibrate sensors Test and validate robot behaviour in both simulation and physical environments Collaborate with AI, electronics, and software engineers for system-wide integration Contribute to system-level testing, debugging, and performance tuning

What We're Looking For

Strong experience with ROS 1 and ROS 2, particularly in mobile robot applications Knowledge of SLAM, localisation (e.g. AMCL, Kalman filters), and motion planning Proficiency in C++ and Python for robotics development Experience integrating a variety of sensors and configuring robot perception stacks Hands-on experience working with real robotic systems and hardware Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to real-world system performance

Bonus Points For

Experience with Jetson platforms and embedded Linux Familiarity with simulation tools such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim Experience deploying robots in healthcare or other sensitive environments Familiarity with safety standards or risk management in robotics
