Job Description

At the heart and soul of London since 1895 West Ham United is a dynamic, fan-focused football Club constantly moving forward but always with an eye on the past.


Our home at the London Stadium has a capacity of 62,500 making it one of the biggest club Stadia in the country however our tickets are the lowest priced for London based clubs in the Premier League, echoing objectives to create Affordable Family Football.


In 2018, our Women's team gained a professional status for the very first time, jumping 2 divisions and competed in the Women's Super League (WSL), the premier division of women's football in England. After finishing a respectable 7th, the team enjoyed particular success in the FA Cup reaching the final of the competition, eventually being beaten by 2017 winners Manchester City.


In April 2019, we opened our brand-new Academy facility based at Chadwell Heath which will help to bring through some of the very best talents in the area, the recent emergence of First Team Players Declan Rice and Ben Johnson are a testament to the work already being done at the Academy.


On the business side, we are continuing to create a Stadium our supporters can call home, with the renaming of the Billy Bonds Stand and Claret and Blue pitch surrounding amongst the latest developments. Additionally, the Club has achieved the Disability Confident Leader status.


The Club employees a constantly growing workforce of approximately 300 core staff and 500 Foundation and events staff, and is a truly unique place to work. We welcome talented individuals who will thrive in our ambitious organisation.

Contract Type: Full-Time (37.5hrs per week over five days out of seven)



Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience




The Club is currently looking to appoint a Store Manager at our Romford branch. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing Premier League football club and play a key role in driving the success of our retail operations.


As Store Manager, you will be responsible for delivering maximum profitability by overseeing day-to-day store operations, leading a sales-driven team, and ensuring exceptional customer service for our loyal fan base. A keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of visual merchandising, and experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment are essential to thrive in this role and align with the culture of the Club.

Oversee the day-to-day operational running of the store Maximise all sales opportunities to drive revenue and performance Recruit, select, and onboard store staff in line with company standards Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered and maintained Train, coach, and develop the store team to enhance performance and growth Manage and motivate the team to achieve and exceed sales targets Plan and execute in-store events and promotional activities Monitor and control store budgets and operational costs Analyse sales figures, identify trends, and forecast future performance

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Educated to NVQ Level 3 in Retail (Management) or equivalent (D) Extensive experience in a customer-facing apparel sales setting, with previous management-level experience (E) Experience of operations including managing work rotas, stock management, and the day-to-day requirements of running a store (E) Previous experience using till systems (E) Experience in building, developing, and leading a team (E) Experience in developing promotional programmes that drive sales (E)
