Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented roof tiler to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision and craftsmanship, with a focus on quality and safety. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of construction processes and be capable of working with a variety of tools and materials to deliver excellent results.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate tile installation. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying suitable substrates or adhesives. Measure, cut, and shape tiles using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to fit designated areas precisely. Install tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces according to project specifications. Ensure proper sealing, grouting, and finishing of tiled surfaces for durability and aesthetic appeal. Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, roofing, welding, and fabrication teams to coordinate project tasks effectively. Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely throughout the worksite. Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste appropriately. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on-site.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tiling installation within construction or renovation projects. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings relevant to tile setting. Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, cutters; power tools including drills and saws; as well as fabrication equipment. Experience working with construction materials like masonry products, adhesives, grouts, and sealants. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site. Basic understanding of related trades such as carpentry, plumbing, roofing, welding, masonry, and fabrication is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship. Good communication skills for effective teamwork across multiple disciplines. Pay: 180.00-220.00 per day
