We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our roofing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles across various projects, ensuring high standards of quality and craftsmanship. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilising a range of tools and techniques to deliver exceptional results. The ideal applicant will have experience in tiling, along with a solid understanding of related trades such as carpentry, masonry, and plumbing. A strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to determine tile layouts and installation plans
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying adhesives or mortar as required
Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment
Ensure precise cutting and fitting of tiles to accommodate corners, edges, and fixtures
Perform repairs or replacements of existing tiling with minimal disruption to the surrounding area
Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and masonry to coordinate project requirements
Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during project execution
Experience
Proven experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar construction role involving tiling work
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to tiling projects
Familiarity with a variety of hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels), power tools (e.g., saws), welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
Knowledge of construction practices including roofing, masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and heavy lifting procedures
Ability to interpret technical specifications related to tiling materials and installation methods
Experience working with heavy lifting equipment and understanding safety protocols in construction environments
This role requires a dedicated professional capable of delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining safety standards across diverse projects. Prior experience with both residential and commercial tiling is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 131.43-215.05 per day
Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week
