Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain roofs using various materials such as shingles, metal, and tiles. Interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project specifications. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for roofing tasks. Perform welding and fabrication as required for specific roofing projects. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues with roofs and recommend solutions. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards. Adhere to safety regulations and best practices while on-site, ensuring a safe working environment. Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof structures when necessary. Engage in masonry work as needed for roof installations or repairs.

Experience

Proven experience in roofing or a related construction field is essential. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and physical stamina for demanding tasks is required. Skills in plumbing may be advantageous for certain roofing projects. Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques is highly desirable. A strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to read schematics is crucial for success in this role.
