The Role



Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team as a Roofer working permanently with our partners at Town & Country Housing Repairs in our Responsive Repairs & Maintenance team The Roofer will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch that stretches across East Kent including Canterbury, Minster, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Hythe, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, New Romney and surrounding areas (Therefore travel is essential) Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-5.00pm As Roofer you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision; taking ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around the tenants

The Customer



Town & Country Housing Repairs is in a joint venture contract with Fortem Solutions to deliver Repairs and Maintenance, Voids and, recently, Retrofit services to almost 9000 houses. The business plan outlines it has the potential to double in both size and value, leading to growth and development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities



The Roofer role involves carrying out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of different roof types, (residential and communal), i.e. slate tile repairs, flat roof / torch on repairs & general roof maintenance. You will also repair and renew guttering, work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections. You will ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision, carry out fault diagnosis and communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Managers to ensure all follow-on works have been captured, leaving the resident assured. You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas

What you will need



Essential criteria: PASMA trained and experience of carrying out scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this) Good knowledge of H&S and working at height Certificate or NVQ in Roofing, or equivalent experience will be considered Full UK Driving licence (max 5 points) Desirable: o Past experience in a Responsive Repairs role Social Housing experience
