Responsibilities

Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fit and installation. Install various roofing systems including asphalt shingles, metal roofing, tile, and membrane roofing in accordance with blueprints and schematics. Prepare roof surfaces by removing old materials, repairing damaged areas, and applying necessary underlayment or insulation layers. Use scaffolding, ladders, and safety harnesses to access roofs safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Perform roof repairs and restoration work efficiently to extend the lifespan of existing roofs. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project specifications and material requirements. Collaborate with construction teams on framing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, or concrete forms while maintaining proper safety procedures. Utilize hand tools like caulking guns, hammers, chisels, and measuring tapes for precise work; operate power tools including nail guns, drills, and saws. Assist in construction estimating by assessing material needs and labor hours for roofing projects.

Experience

Proven experience in roofing installation or repair on commercial or residential buildings. cherry picker experience and qualifications needed Strong background in construction site work with familiarity in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively across various construction tasks. Knowledge of related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry (stucco), welding, plumbing, tile laying, heavy lifting techniques, and restoration processes is highly desirable. Experience with construction estimating processes is a plus. Ability to read technical drawings including schematics for roofing systems or metal stud framing.
