Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings. Duties

Install new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure waterproofing and structural integrity Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to facilitate accurate installation and repairs Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to access high or difficult-to-reach areas Utilise carpentry skills for framing or structural modifications as required Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes Assist with other construction tasks including masonry, plumbing, or general carpentry when necessary

Qualifications

Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields is preferred Knowledge of schematics, welding techniques, and fabrication processes is advantageous Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment is essential Strong understanding of construction principles, roofing techniques, and building regulations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on ladders or scaffolding Good organisational skills with attention to detail in executing technical tasks Physical fitness to undertake demanding manual labour throughout the working day Relevant qualifications or certifications in roofing or construction trades are desirable but not mandatory
