Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our solar installation construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The ideal applicant will possess experience with construction tools and materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using a variety of materials including shingles, metal, and flat roofing membranes Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements Operate power tools such as nail guns, drills, and saws safely and efficiently Use hand tools including hammers, chisels, and trowels for precise work Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate installation processes Fabricate custom components on-site as needed using welding, carpentry, or masonry skills Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields such as carpentry, masonry, or plumbing Must be available to work away from home Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Strong understanding of safety procedures related to working at heights and on construction sites Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks in various weather conditions Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail Valid relevant certifications or licences are essential
